Greenbrier Elementary Music

About Mrs. Toney:  Mrs. Amy Toney is the GBE Music Teacher for Grades K-5 and director of the GBE Chorus. Mrs. Toney has been married to Dr. Brian Toney, a fellow Columbia County music teacher, for 23 years and they have two wonderful sons, Simon (age 18) and Nolan (age 16).  Mrs. Toney earned her Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Grove City College in 2000 and her Masters Degree in Music Education in 2004.  She taught elementary music for 5 years in Maryland and Pennsylvania before staying at home with her children for 9 years.  During that time, Mrs. Toney taught Kindermusik classes to children ages 0-7 and their families. She returned to the elementary music classroom in 2014 and taught music part-time at Cedar Ridge Elementary, before moving to GBE in 2015.  Mrs. Toney loves children and music very much and thinks she has the BEST job in the world!

Our second graders had fun learning about form in music using the parachute.  Check out our routine to Offenbach's "La Gaite Parisianne" (AKA the "Can-Can"), which shows the A, B and C sections as well as the introduction and coda!
